Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Andre Schuerrle from Chelsea for a reported transfer fee in excess of €30 million (£23m).
Schuerrle, 24, will return to Bundesliga some 18 months after joining Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported transfer fee of €25m (£19m) and put pen to paper on a contract until 2019, according to the club website.
Chelsea and Wolfsburg finally struck a deal for the German international winger, just minutes before the closure of the German transfer window at 6pm CET on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, Schurrle was included on the final German Football League January transfer list and Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs said he was confident that the final details could be sorted, admitting the hold-up was "about money, to put it simply".
Wolfsburg beat league leaders Bayern Munich 4-1 last Friday, and narrowed the gap to Pep Guardiola's side to eight points.
They have also reached the round of the last 32 in the Europa League, where they will take on Sporting Lisbon later this month.
